Precept are on the lookout for a developer to join the team here at our Newcastle studio, with a cracking view of the marina at St Peter's Basin.

Working collaboratively within the Precept team, your role will be to develop and maintain a wide range of high quality web projects.

So, if you're up for joining a growing and ambitious team, read on. You might just have the experience we're looking for.

Tasks of the Role

  • Working from approved designs, manage development of all front-end aspects of new projects
  • Maintain and support all front-end aspects of a wide variety of existing projects 
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure they are deliverable within available time/budget
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain/improve code quality
  • Grow into full stack developer role

Must Haves

  • Demonstrable experience of developing a variety of web projects
  • Solid understanding of CSS, HTML, JavaScript
  • Experience developing responsive websites optimised for a range of screen dimensions and devices
  • Experience with cross-browser development issues and how these are best resolved
  • Keen attention to detail

Nice to Haves

  • 2-3 years commercial experience, preferably working on multiple projects to deadlines
  • Experience of developing and testing HTML email templates
  • Development with PHP/MySQL or similar
  • Working knowledge of CakePHP or similar frameworks
  • Version control using Git or similar as part of a team
  • Ability to integrate with various APIs
  • Experience managing web and email hosting accounts
  • Web server management via control panel or command line interface
  • Understanding of domain management and DNS configuration
